      Happy Tuesday!  Today's card was made for my sister-in-law who blessed me with a birthday gift of homemade apricot bars!  They were so good.

      I know you can find the recipe online if you are interested.  Just search for date bars and substitute apricots.  My husband loves the date bars but give me apricots.

    

       This card was difficult to photograph with mostly white and then using Brilliance Jade ink so my apologies. 
     Using double-sided tape I cut the Memory Box die and loaded it with aqua micro beads.  I've done this before and really like the look and texture.  The sentiment is from Flourishes.
     I haven't seen an update about Flourishes lately.  I understood they were opening again.  We'll see.

Make A Wish

     Hi everyone!  I had a birthday this past Friday.  It was a bright, sunny 70 degree day at the end of January!  I loved it!
     My husband said I would have to make my own card since all the ones he looked at weren't worth buying!
     Although I didn't make this card for me at the time it did come in handy.

    
     You might remember this stamp from Flourishes.  You'll be happy to hear Flourishes is reopening this coming week.  Sounds exciting!
     A web address is not available yet.  I found out through Facebook.  My card was made in hopes of winning their first contest.
     I'll try to remember to share their web address when I get it.  No promises though since I did get older last week!!

Galatians 6:9

     Hi friends!  This is my last Wednesday as the Guest Designer for Word Art Wednesday.  I want to publicly say thank you to Karen Letchworth for the blessing of creating with WAW during April.  I truly enjoyed it.
     Today's devotional at WAW is on Galatians 6:9.  You can find it here along with rules and prizes.  I kept the card clean and simple by using an embossing folder along with a Spellbinders die.  The flowers are a retired set by Flourishes.

2 Corinthians 1:5

 

     Welcome!  It's time for another inspirational challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  Check out their site for this week's devotional, digital scripture, the rules and the prizes.

     Today's scripture is 2 Corinthians 1:5.  My interpretation of this verse is that although suffering can endure for the cause of Christ, the consolation of comfort and grace through those trials are just as abundant from Christ.  

     This is the first time I've used this image by Flourishes.  Most of you know Flourishes has closed.  The good news though is Marcella Hawley, the artist behind Flourishes' designs, started her own business, Poppy Power.  So these beautiful floral images will live on! 

     Instead of placing the image on top of the Spellbinders die I placed it behind to use as a frame.  It is tricky but doable.

Resurrection and the Life

 

     Hi friends!!  This week's digital scripture verse with Word Art Wednesday is just in time for your Easter cards.  It's John 11:25 where Jesus is comforting Martha in the death of her brother Lazarus.   
     Jesus says that because He is the resurrection and the life even when our earthly body dies we will live on in heaven if we place our trust in Him.
     Word Art Wednesday's devotional will share more on this scripture.
     The Cross of Nails from Our Daily Bread Designs was stamped with Wild Honey Distress ink.  Since Jesus is know as the Rose of Sharon because of His beauty I used roses.  Pearls were added for texture and more beauty.

Thinking of You

     Hello!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I was just thankful to see the sunshine. 
     A couple of months ago I made a sympathy card for a friend who lost her Father.  Unfortunately today's card is for the same friend but this time it was her sister who passed away.  
     I'm entering this card in Flourishes' Get In Shape Challenge.  The challenge is to create a shaped card.  I admit shaped cards are out of my comfort zone but I like how this one turned out.

Dove and Holly

     Welcome!  I hope you've gotten your Christmas shopping done.  I just wish I had my Christmas cards done!!  If my craft room were larger I would make Christmas cards all year round.
     Today's card features the Dove and Holly set by Flourishes and Basic Grey papers, 25th and Pine. There is glossy accents on the berries, green pearls on each corner and ribbon by Webster's Pages.

Believe

     Hi friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We had company and a Christmas get together with my husband's family.  My family celebrates next week.  Thankfully we never have to leave town.
     As you can see I'm still working on Christmas cards.  This one features stamps by Flourishes and Santa with his sleigh and reindeer made by a Silhouette. 
     Liquid applique was applied to Santa's beard, hat and gloves.  It makes you want to touch them!!

Candy Land

     Hi friends!  I hope you're having a creative week!  I can't believe it's been so long since my last post.  My mojo disappeared under all that patterned paper plus I've had a painter in and out last week.  I wish choosing wall colors were as easy as choosing patterned paper!   

     Today's image from Flourishes reminds me of a Candy Land.  I paired it with the candy stripe paper from Webster's Pages.  Stickles were used to add sparkle to the image and glossy accents for shine.  To dress up the base paper from Martha Stewart I added glittered embossing powder.

     The image is popped up for dimension.  The large sparkles at the bottom are Webster's Pages.

With Sympathy

     Hi friends!  Today I have a simple CAS sympathy card.  A friend of ours recently lost his wife of 55 years to cancer.  I wanted to keep the card clean without lace or pearls. 

     The tea rose is Flourishes.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up.  I colored the rose with chalks.  The sentiment is popped up and scored lines surround the card.  The shadow around the rose is not that intense.  I can't seem to get it to come out soft so you'll have to use your imagination!!

Season's Greetings

     Hi friends!  In hopes of winning the entire October release with Flourishes I needed to make a Christmas card.  The twist to this challenge is you cannot use red or green.  So, I've created this blue Christmas card.
     I wish the photo showed all the sparkle.  The ribbon and Memory box border flakes have sparkle as well the Stickles snow in the snow globe.  The fur on the girl's clothes sparkle with Flower Soft.  The embossed background even has sparkle.
     The snow globe was popped up for more dimension.  Season's Greetings is a die by Marianne Dies.

      Welcome!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  My card today is for the Timeless Tuesday challenge with Flourishes.  The challenge is paper piecing.  Not only will there be one prize winner but there will be 4 participants chosen to be Guest Designers for December!!  Sounds like fun to me!
     The center of the Iris is popped up for dimension.  There is a black pearl in the center.  The paper is Memory Box.

     Welcome back!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We are starting to feel a touch of Fall in the air.  I'm so ready for the mosquitoes to be gone!  They just love me...

     Today's card is a sketch challenge with Sketch Saturday.  I chose the stamp set Call Me by Flourishes and Hello Luscious by Basic Grey.  The center panel is embossed.  A touch of stitching and bow complete the textures.  I used a color duster with Brilliance Jade ink to add shading around the image.

     Flourishes' September challenge is Get in Shape.  Thankfully they are talking about a 3D item or shaped card and not dieting!  So I decided to make a cupcake holder and notecard by using my Silhouette. 

     The sentiment is by Flourishes and the doubled sided paper is Webster's Pages. 

     Shortly after this picture the cupcake has a couple bites out of it.  Hey, life's short.....eat dessert first!

Just Because

     Hello again!  This is the last week to CASE one of the designers at Flourishes.  The focus is on Allison Cope.  She does beautiful artwork and use to be a chef!  I could use tips on both fronts, art and cooking!

Beauty Blooms

     Hi stamping friends!  Today's card is for another Flourishes' challenge to CASE one of their design team members.  This week it is Tosha Leyendekker.  I've been a fan of Tosha's artwork long before she joined Flourishes.  She is one gifted artist!
     I don't have the long die Tosha used so I cut in the paper making the rose flush with the patterned paper.  The tea rose is colored with chalks then sprayed with a fixative to prevent smears.
    The colored vellum matches the paper.  You really need Stazon ink on vellum.  It will dry.  The sparkler is Webster's Pages and the paper is London Market by Pink Paislee.

Poppies

    Happy Friday!  I'm playing in the color inspiration with Flourishes in hopes to win their August release.  As usual I'm cutting it close. But, you know what they say, "you can't win if you don't enter"!
    Of course the stamps are Flourishes.  The paper is Fabrications by Teresa Collins.  The main die cut is exclusive to Flourishes.  The sentiment die is Spellbinders.  I used an airbrush for the shading.
     I'll keep by fingers crossed in hopes the random generator thingy likes me number!  In the meantime.....

Yellow Roses

     I was unable to celebrate Flourishes' 6th Anniversary but am playing along with Flourishes' challenge to CASE team designer Maki.  She is quite talented, cute and a crazy sports junkie!

     I need to make several thank you cards for the beautiful flowers we received for my mother-in-law's service so I chose this design of Maki's work.

     The roses are by Flourishes.  I stamped them twice to pop up the center flowers.  The papers are Webster's Pages and ribbon by Papertrey Ink.

Tea Rose

      Happy Monday to you!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  The challenge at Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday is to use acetate on your card.  It's been a while since I've worked with acetate so this was a refresher. 
     I pulled out the alcohol inks and went to town.  Thankfully I remembered to wear gloves.  This card is a bit different when opened in that it reveals the colored acetate.   

    
     The stamps are Old Tea Rose by Flourishes.  Papers are from my stash.

One in a Melon

     Can you believe this is my second post today?  Try not to faint!  Guess I've had stamp withdrawals with Mom in rehab and also having company.  And, what better way to spend a hot summer afternoon.  Housework is so overrated. 
     This card is also for Flourishes' July release sketch challenge.  It just so happened that dear hubby was slicing up a watermelon while I was coloring.  I needed to see what color to use on the rind so it was perfect timing.  I'm not a melon person so I wasn't for sure.
     The stamps are Flourishes, of course.  The paper is Studio G from Michaels.  It was $1.50 per pack.  Ya gotta love it.
     Guess I got my stamp fix for the day.  Nothing like inky fingers!
