20th Anniversary

After a couple of years being a widow I prayed about my future.  I told God that if He wanted me to remarry that was fine and if He didn't that was fine too.  But...if He wanted me to remarry I would like a man who likes to fish, play golf and didn't have children.  Of course he had to be a Christian.
Now I know God can part the Red Sea but to bring me a husband without children in his 30's or 40's in a town our size was really going to be a miracle!  I prayed for no children because I wanted my own.
It was probably 6 weeks later when a mutual friend set us up on a blind date. When I opened the door for the date I thought, "I'm in trouble now!  Here is my answer to prayer!"  I just didn't think it would be that quick!!
We met in July.  He proposed in October!  I was trying to sell my house so we decided to wait until it sold within a reasonable time before we marry.  Ten days later the house sold!  I had to be out in 30 days!  So on Dec. 4th, a Wednesday night, after church we married.  The church was decorated for Christmas and those at church that evening could join us.
I wanted to share this because we almost didn't see 20 years.  Earlier this year Randall had a heart attack in the middle of the night.  He had stopped breathing for 20 minutes before EMS could get a pulse.  Thankfully God had another miracle for us.  Randall is alive and well to celebrate another anniversary!
God is still in the miracle business....just ask me!

  3. Good testimony, dear friend. I remember your wedding and the days leading up to it - for one, your shower! We gave you a pretty hard time! Also, Jan and I teased you pretty good while you were trying to get ready. Beautiful wedding.
    I love you both!

  7. What a beautiful story and I thank you for sharing it, even if it did choke me up a little bit. I hope God grants you and Randall another 20 or more years.
